Rev. Dr. Catherine Williams receives Teacher-Scholar Grant award
Today, Lancaster Theological Seminary has announced that the Rev. Dr. Catherine Williams has been awarded a $25,000 Teacher-Scholar Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship through their prestigious Vital Worship Vital Preaching Grants program.

The 12-month grant will support Williams’ groundbreaking research to promote effective homiletical practices that are integral to the flourishing of Caribbean congregational life by producing instructional materials related to the homiletical wisdom and liturgical practices of Caribbean congregations in the United States and the Caribbean provinces.
“This grant represents an important investment in understanding and preserving the rich liturgical heritage of Caribbean congregations while supporting their continued vitality,” said Williams, Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship and Director of Chapel Worship at Lancaster Theological Seminary/The Seminary at Moravian University.
This significant award recognizes Williams’ commitment to advancing worship and preaching practices that serve diverse faith communities. The research will produce valuable instructional resources that bridge Caribbean homiletical traditions with contemporary ministry needs.

The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship’s Vital Worship Vital Preaching Grants program supports scholarly work that enhances worship and preaching practices across various Christian traditions and cultural contexts.
