October 1, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Latino/a/x Advisory Council at Lancaster Theological Seminary presents, in both English and Spanish, a lecture and discussion, La Paz Tiene Nombre de Mujer / Peace Has a Woman’s Name.

Presenters are the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Soto and Professor Alix Lozano. The talk is based on their contributions to the book, Liberating the Politics of Jesus, co-edited by Dr. Soto, adjunct professor at Lancaster Theological Seminary. Professor Lozano is founding member and leader of the Ecumenical Group of Women Builders of Peace (GemPaz), which supported and promoted a landmark Peace Agreement in Colombia. She retired as the director of the Seminario Bíblico Menonita de Colombia (Mennonite Seminary of Colombia) in Bogotá, Colombia.

The event, in Lancaster Seminary’s historic Santee Chapel, is open to faculty, students, and staff at Lancaster and Moravian seminaries. Face masks are required for all indoor events and social distancing will be observed.

This forum is made possible, in part, by The Rev. Dr. Paul R. and Catherine Helen Gregory Lectureship.
