Forging Ahead

The students, faculty, and staff at Lancaster Theological Seminary have navigated the Seminary’s first year of fully online learning and telecommuting since 1825. We face a future that may be different than years past but one which gives us reason to embrace hope. We are proud of the resilience, flexibility, and grace that our Seminary community has shown in meeting the challenges of a very difficult year.

Your engagement and investment in the LTS community helps ensure a bright future.

We will gather (in spirit) on Friday, May 7, starting a 1pm in Santee Chapel to reconnect, recognize outstanding individuals in our alumni community, and worship together.

Alumni Council President Chris Rankin (’04, ’14) is leading the event, and Rev. Jack Esbenshade (’71) and Rev. Stephanie Thompson (’96) will represent their respective class reunions.

The Moss Award for Excellence in Specialized Ministry will be presented to Rev. Dana Schlegel (’77) by Rev. Dr. Ronnette Comfort-Butler (’08, ’20).

The Meck Award for Excellence in Pastoral Ministry will be awarded to Rev. Gerald Simmons (’92, ’03) by Rev. Shayna Watson (’12).

We will also have the opportunity to hear remarks from Interim President David Rowe and Dean Vanessa Lovelace.

Rev. Dr. Rankin, Rev. Schlegel, and Rev. Simmons will lead us in worship as we celebrate in (virtual) fellowship together.
