LGBT Week

In 2000 three students at LTS approached the administration with the idea of organizing a week to raise awareness and celebrate LGBT diversity within the Seminary.

Since that time LTS has adopted an official Open and Affirming (ONA) policy and has continued to welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered students to participate in and contribute to the life of the seminary community.

Over the past 10 years LGBT students, staff and faculty and their straight allies have worked to bring a variety of speakers, panel discussions, art exhibitions and other events to the Seminary to provide opportunities for dialog and education. An archive of materials can be found at the LTS Allies website (external).

Looking Back

Interviews from two of the organizers of the very first GLBT Week (as it was called at that time) are now posted on the LTS Allies Site, along with other information about past years' themes and guest lecturers.
