{MCC logo} Since 1980 Lancaster Theological Seminary has welcomed students from the Metropolitan Community Churches. In the 30 years since we have worked together with MCC and other denominations to create an open and affirming environment for LGBTQ students and their allies to walk together in the journey of ministry preparation.

Whether you're preparing for ordained ministry within MCC, preparing for a role in Christian Education, or perhaps just wishing to explore your faith, LTS has a program for you.  We invite you to click on the links at the left to explore the partnership that MCC and LTS have been building.  When you're ready, you can request more information or plan a visit.
Quick Facts concerning LTS and MCC
LTS has graduated 19 alumni for ministry within MCC
We're proud of our graduates, who include Rev. Dr. Kharma Amos, Rev. Steve Filizzi, and Rev. Jen Glass.  In 2010 three more MCC graduates were added to the roll of those preparing for ministry.

{2010 MCC graduates}
2010 LTS graduates John McLaughlin, Zoe Jeffery, and Andrea Ferguson
are all members of MCC preparing for ministry.

There are currently eight MCC students enrolled at LTS with 3 more entering in the fall.  Maybe you could join them?  Current students include people preparing for ordination as well as some pursuing the Master of Arts in Religion.

MCC members serve at Lancaster Seminary as both faculty and on the Board of Trustees.
David Mellott joined the faculty of Lancaster Seminary in 2005.  By 2008 he made history as the first MCC tenure-track professor.  David teaches in the areas of theology and philosophy and is responsible for the spiritual formation program at LTS.

In 2009, Rev. Dr. Kharma Amos (2002) began her term of service on the Board of Trustees at LTS.

MCC and LTS have partnered to set up two prizes named for historical MCC figures.  The Reverend Delores P. Berry Preaching Prize in Liberation Theology is awarded annually to the student who submits a sermon that best embodies the principles of liberation theology.  We are currently building the endowment for the Reverend Elder Arlene Ackerman Scholarship Fund which provide tuition funds for MCC students attending Lancaster Seminary.
